Method for quantitative analysis of protein in cochineal pigment

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precise analytic method of protein in a cochineal pigment.SOLUTION: (1) Preprocessing level A: a cochineal pigment sample is gel-filtrated using, as a fixed phase, one or more polysaccharide crosslink materials selected from a dextran and its derivative, and an agarose and its derivative and using, as a moving phase, an aqueous solution having a salt concentration of 5 mM or more and a pH in the range of 1.5-9; and an eluent that can include the protein is recovered. (2) The cochineal pigment sample having undergone the preprocessing level A is analyzed by a direct adsorption ELISA method.
