PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge dehydration system and a control method of the sludge dehydration system where a total use amount of wash water does not increase while keeping desired washing performance even when the travel speed of a filter cloth belt is changed.SOLUTION: A sludge dehydration system 10 includes an endless filter cloth belt 20 that travels on a circulation track and practices solid-liquid separation while conveying sludge, and a washing device 23 that washes the filter cloth belt 20 by discharging wash water from a nozzle 23a. The sludge dehydration system 10 further includes: a travel speed changing unit 68 that changes the travel speed of the filter cloth belt 20; a washing location displacing unit 70 that displaces a washing location W where the filter cloth belt 20 is washed by the washing device 23, in the longitudinal direction of the filter cloth belt 20 at a displacement speed corresponding to the travel speed of the filter cloth belt 20; and a discharge control unit 64 that practices on-off control of wash water discharge from the nozzle 23a according to the travel speed of the filter cloth belt 20.
