Provided is a polyester being a polymer including a dicarboxylic acid, a rosin diol, and an epoxy compound, the rosin diol being represented by general formula (1): wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or methyl; L1, L2, and L3 are independently a divalent linking group selected from the group consisting of carbonyl, ester, ether, sulfonyl, optionally substituted chain alkylenes, optionally substituted cyclic alkylenes, optionally substituted arylenes, and combinations thereof; L1 and L2 or L1 and L3 are optionally joined together to form a ring; and A1 and A2 are rosin ester groups.
