PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a query generation method, a query generation program, and a query generation device which generate a query for extracting a document suiting user's purpose.SOLUTION: A processing unit executes: a first step of searching a plurality of documents on the basis of an input search word and classifying the plurality of searched documents into a plurality of sets of documents in accordance with similarity and displaying information identifying the plurality of sets of document, on a display unit; a second step of extracting character strings in sets of exclusion documents designated as sets of documents to be excluded, out of the plurality of displayed sets of documents and calculating a score indicative of an appearance distribution rate of each of the extracted character strings within the sets of exclusion documents in the plurality of searched documents and generating a character string list of the character strings sorted in the descending order by score; and a third step of selecting character strings in several higher places of the character string list as candidates for a query of an exclusion condition in accordance with an input proportional to the number of character strings in the character string list and calculating a proportion of documents including the selected character strings with respect to each set of documents and displaying the result on the display unit.
