PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static electricity removal device with a static electricity detection function which removes static electricity by blowing electrostatic ions of a charge amount and an air current amount required for static electricity removal over an object and is automatically stopped after static electricity removal, and a static electricity removal method including detection of static electricity.SOLUTION: In accordance with a static electricity value of an object detected by a static electricity sensor, a circuit controller controls an ion generation circuit to generate only ions with a polarity opposite to a static electricity value detected by an ion discharge probe and controls an air current control circuit to cause an air current generator to generate an air current of a proper strength and blow the ions of the opposite polarity to the object. If a static electricity value is not detected by the static electricity sensor, the circuit controller controls the ion generation circuit and the air current generator to stop operations.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
