A viewing hologram reproducing apparatus has no function to access special contents by utilizing the characteristics of a hologram. Further, even though the hologram can be expected to have a counterfeit prevention effect visually, a counterfeit similar product of the hologram itself has been on the market, and there has been a demand for a system that allows the user to easily determine the authenticity. A holographic barcode is read by a portable information terminal such as a smartphone so that the authenticity of a hologram can be determined. At this time, by controlling the light source for illuminating the hologram from the portable information terminal side, it was possible to add a strong authenticity determination function without a large cost increase and without a special infrastructure construction.
