Provided is a method for treating ammonia-containing nitrogen-containing wastewater, which can treat ammonia-containing nitrogen-containing wastewater by a simple method. A bromine-based oxidant, or a bromine-based oxidant, or a reaction product of a bromine compound and a chlorine-based oxidant, and a sulfamic acid compound are present in an ammoniacal nitrogen-containing wastewater containing ammonia nitrogen. Presence of a reaction product of a chlorinated oxidant and a sulfamic acid compound or a reaction product, or a mixture of bromine and a sulfamic acid compound, or a reaction product of bromine and a sulfamic acid compound. It is a processing method of the waste water containing ammonia nitrogen.
