SYSTEMS, METHODS AND DEVICES FOR DRIVER-RIDER MATCHING ADAPTABLE TO MULTIPLE RIDESHARE MODELS

Disclosed are driver-rider matching algorithms, multimodal automated ridesharing systems, and dedicated mobile applications for provisioning rideshare services. A method is disclosed for matching prospective riders with available drivers associated with an automated ridesharing system. The method includes receiving a ride request from a prospective rider, and determining scheduling and preference data for that prospective rider. A set of available drivers currently or prospectively within a predetermined proximity of the prospective rider, if any, is then created. Driver scheduling and preference data is determined for each available driver in the set. The method then determines if the requesting rider matches with any of the available drivers in the set by comparing the rider's scheduling and preference data with the driver's scheduling and preference data. If the prospective rider matches with at least one available driver, a confirmation of the match is responsively transmitted to the prospective rider and the matched driver.
