The photon-powered bi-directional multiplexed sensor-communication network on one optical fiber can find applicationin gas and oil pipelines, drilling and explosive mining equipment for data communication, monitoring and control of specific physical and chemical parameters. The sensor-communication network is particularly suitable for environments where no external power supply can be provided at each measuring terminal. On the basis of the proposed sensor-communication network, simultaneous bidirectional communication and transfer of photon energy through a single fiber (5) is achieved. By the same fiber, it is possible to connect more than one terminal measuring device, which builds a sensor-communication network on a single optical fiber. When using the network, it is possible to measure different physical and chemical parameters, as well as to monitor the amount of energy consumed and accumulated by each terminal. The simultaneous use of one fibe for communication and transfer of photonic energy allows for reduction of their number and for the already existing optical communication network to expand the network capacity and the number of terminals.
