synchronized hibernation communication protocol for linear topology wireless sensor network continuous monitoring system The present invention relates to a communication protocol for wireless sensor network. It consists in defining the way of communication and data transfer between the intermediate sensor nodes, allowing them to be hibernated to reduce power consumption, but at the same time allowing the network to sleep and wake up synchronously. The network of sensors that communicate by radio frequency applies to the measurement and periodic transmission of physical properties measured by the sensors. The invention allows such low power operation due to synchronized hibernation. This approach becomes viable with the use of low cost sensors and results in multiple point monitoring, involving total system cost even lower than that obtained with the use of few high cost equipment and high power radio transmissions.
