Metroliferous field chemical dispensing fluids containing a mixture of a base fluid and microcapsules (1, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15) having a metroliferous field chemical contained within the microcapsule are described. Chemical groups on the outer surface of the microcapsules interact with the base fluid and promote the dispersibility of the microcapsules in the base fluid. Chemical groups on the outer surface of microcapsules interact with the targeted areas of a hydrocarbon reservoir and promote the substantivity of the microcapsules to the targeted areas of the reservoir. Metroliferous field chemical dispensing fluids provide for the arrangement of microcapsules at a desired location within the well and / or reservoirs using properties such as microparticle density. Methods for making metroliferous field chemical dispensing fluids, systems that contain metroliferous field chemical dispensing fluids, methods for fracturing stone in a reservoir and tracing fluid movement in a hydrocarbon reservoir using these fluids are described.
