A monitoring system for a pressure-activated dual-phase mixed gas and fluid shock absorber may comprise a controller and a non-transient tangible memory configured to communicate with the controller, wherein the non-transient tangible memory which contain stored instructions about the same which, in response to execution by the controller, cause the controller to perform operations comprising receiving from the controller a temperature sensor reading from the primary chamber, receiving from the controller a reading from the primary chamber pressure, receive from the controller a stroke sensor reading of the shock absorber and calculate by the controller an oil volume in a primary shock absorber chamber. The instructions may cause the controller to perform other operations including calculating by the controller several moles of gas in a primary shock absorber chamber and calculating by the controller a number of moles of gas in a secondary shock absorber chamber. .
