This is an absorbent body care item that can be used on the body. The absorbent body-worn absorbent hygiene article comprises an electronic parts unit, a power supply and a magnetic switch. The magnetic switch operatively couples the electronic parts unit to the power supply. The magnetic switch is configured so that the power supply provides power to the electronic parts unit when the magnetic switch is in an on state and so that the power supply does not provide power to the electronic parts unit when the magnetic switch is in an off state. The magnetic switch is further configured such that a movement of a magnet relative to the magnetic switch switches the magnetic switch from the off state to the on state.
