The present invention is correlated with an elasticized absorbent article having a base structure including a topsheet, a backing sheet and an absorbent structure. The back waist region of the base structure includes a first elastic region. A pair of opposite rear side panels is attached to the base frame at the rear waist region. one or both side panels include a second elastic region. The article also includes fixing means. The elastic regions are arranged to reduce the risk of improper attachment of the absorbent article around the wearer's waist and so that the absorbent article has an improved and comfortable fit, attractive appearance and ability to remain in place during normal use. this is achieved by arranging the absorbent structure so that it terminates at a first distance from the transverse edge of the rear waist region and a second distance from the first elastic region; and by arranging fixation labels on a transverse axis extending between the absorbent structure and the first elastic region.
