摘要
A method of converting fusion products energy into electrical energy by injecting ions on a spiral path in a generally cylindrical cavity (420) having a surface formed by a group of electrodes (494) between which there is a certain distance having several elongated spaces (497) between them. The gaps (497) extend around the longitudinal axis of the cavity (420), oscillating potential is applied to the group of electrodes (494) and an azimuthal electric field is formed across the group of gaps (497), thereby generating an electric field in the cavity (420) having a multiple pole structure with more than two poles, and the ions are retarded by interacting with an electric field for conversion of at least a portion of the kinetic energy of the ions into electrical energy. An inverse cyclotron energy converter for converting the kinetic energy of the ions injected into the converter comprises a group of electrodes (494) constituting the generally cylindrical cavity (420). The electrodes (494) are spaced apart from one another and have elongated gaps (497) between them. The gaps (497) extend around the longitudinal axis of the cavity (420) and the group of electrodes (494) comprises more than two electrodes (494) which form a multipolar electric field with more than two poles when applying the electrical potential to the group of electrodes (494), thereby creating an azimuthal electric field across the groups of gaps (497). In addition, it comprises a magnetic field generator (488) around the group of electrodes (494) that are arranged so as to form an axial magnetic field in the cavity (420) when the current is applied to the magnetic field (325) generator (488).
