The objectives of the invention are the development of a pharmaceutical composition with high therapeutic efficacy and extended spectrum of action on pathogens of bacterial infections, with a low level of toxicity, inexpensive, easy to manufacture and use of the drug based on it for the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in cattle. In addition, the composition contains active ingredients of natural origin. A preparation for the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in cattle in the form of a liquid formulation, which is an aqueous or oily suspension or solution of a pharmaceutical composition with a nisin concentration of 0.1-5 wt.%, With a concentration of polymyxin 0.05-5 wt.%. A method for treating mastitis in cattle includes parenteral administration of the drug based on the proposed pharmaceutical composition of 10 ml per udder portion daily in a course of 3-7 procedures. Thus, the pharmaceutical composition and the drug based on it show a high therapeutic efficacy with an expanded spectrum of action on pathogens of bacterial infections and a low level of toxicity, inexpensive, easy to manufacture and use a drug based on it for the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in cattle.
