The present invention relates to an underwater gas pressure boosting module comprising at least one vertical vessel configured to receive gas through the upper part of the vessel and increase the pressure of the liquid through the lower part of the vessel and additionally containing a layer of water-immiscible liquid on the layer of water-salt solution , moreover, the density of the pressure-increasing fluid is higher than the density of the water-saline solution, which, in turn, is higher than the density of the water-immiscible fluid to hold the water-salt layer solution to increase the pressure of the liquid and to keep the layer of water-immiscible liquid above the layer of water-salt solution achieving a predetermined pressure and introducing gas into the vessel by pumping the pressure-increasing fluid through the lower part of the vertical vessel. The invention also relates to a subsea natural gas liquefaction system containing the above-mentioned subsea gas pressure boosting module and to a method for subsea liquefying natural gas.
