A method of pre-establishing the time dependence of the concentration of a contrast agent on a location in a patient’s blood vessel in the context of a magnetic-resonance (MR)-enhanced visualization of a region of interest only during the initial phase of filling with a contrast agent of a blood vessel located in the region of interest. The method includes detecting the expected expansion of the bolus profile B (t) of the contrast agent according to the equality ΔW = W2 - W1, where W1 is the first width of the bolus profile of the contrast agent at the preset first location of the patient's vessel, and W2 is the second width of the concentration profile of the contrast agent a pre-established second vessel location located in the area of interest of the patient. Expansion is detected by setting at least one flow parameter that depends on at least one property of the patient's bloodstream at its third vessel location and which correlates with the expected expansion of the bolus profile of the contrast agent.
