The invention relates to veterinary medicine, particularly infectious disease diagnostics in animals. The technical task of the method is to develop an immunoenzyme assay for improved microsporia diagnostics in carnivores that is achieved by employing the cell wall antigen of fungus Microsporum canis No. 13, registration No. M-58-13/D, as an immobilisation antigen in styrene plates. Detection of IgG class antibodies specific to the said antigen, which are characteristic to microsporia infection, is performed in blood of cats and dogs using enzyme-labelled rabbit immunoglobulins against specific anti-ZgG. EIA results are coloured using a chromogen and are evaluated by either spectrophotometry or visually. Blood serum samples with mean optical density values at least 2 times exceeding mean optical value of the negative control serum, are regarded to be positive.
