ELECTRIC DRIVE AUTOMATIC GULL-WING DOOR SYSTEM FOR PIXY SMART CAR

An Electric Drive Automatic Gull-Wing Door System is developed, which is used in a Smart Car named PIXY. This special type of door works on electricity and receives commands from Smart Car Control System (SCCS) through Bluetooth short range wireless communication technology. Gull-wing doors are special type of automotive doors that are hinged at the top side of vehicle on the roof rather than left and right sides of the vehicle. The gull-wing doors open upwards. Conventional car doors are hinged at the side vertical pillars of the vehicle and the doors swing outward in a horizontal plane on the other hand gull-wing doors swing upward in vertical or in the both horizontal as well as in vertical planes. Gull-wing doors have also been used in aircraft and spacecraft designs. The design and architecture of gull-wing doors require little side-clearance to open and allow much better entrance/egress than conventional doors.
