The present disclosure provides a lead and cadmium free thick film composition comprising a semi-conductive phase, a conductive phase and a non-conductive phase. The semi-conductive phase consists of oxides of manganese, nickel, and cobalt, the conductive phase consists of ruthenium dioxide, and the non-conductive phase consists of oxides of calcium, barium, boron, silicon and aluminium. The composition has a sheet resistance in the range of 0.5 KΩ/square to 1.5 KΩ/square and a thermistor constant in the range of 1000 K to 1500 K. The composition can be screen printed on a pre-fired substrate and fired to obtain thick film negative temperature co-efficient (NTC) thermistor.
