摘要

A normal water cooler used for cooling the water is VCR based systerri;however these systems have drawbacks like the system works on electricity which is a high grade of energy; the system works on VCR cycle which uses harmful refrigerants which contain CFCs & HCFCs which lead to global wanning & ozone layer depletion; moreover VCR based system used for cooling water is costly; hence there is a need to develop a compact system which does not consume more power and works on natural cooling; a compact earthen pot type water cooling system is developed in the present work; the said earthen pot based system has two earthen pots placed one above another with earthen tubes in between them; a small fan which consumes very less power is placed behind the earthen tubes for cooling the tubes; the earthen pot are placed over a stand & a small tap is attached to the lower pot for pouring the cold water in the glass for drinking; the water obtained from the tap is chilled water and is entirely potable & contains necessary ingredients needed for drinking; also chilled air is obtained from the system due to the fan blowing air over the earthen tubes & hence this chilled air can be used for space cooling.
