The present invention relates to a Run Out Table(ROT) laminar cooling system for Hot Strip Mill comprising array of top and bottom cooling header in run out table comprising top banks and bottom banks. The ROT cooling system are provided with goose-neck type headers for top banks and laminar pipes for bottom banks to ensure smaller stream to break steam barriers and achieve laminar flow, keeping same pump for cooling water at unchanged flow rate. The design was changed primarily to achieve laminar flow with improved cooling rate for both top and bottom headers. Bothe top and bottom headers haveON/OFF shut off valves provided with spring return such that even during power or air failure the valves can return to close position.
