A DEVICE TO GENERATE POWER FROM LOW HEAD WATER SOURCES USING WATER HAMMER EFFECT

The disclosed device can generate power and torque from low head water sources consuming lesser quantity of water by the utilization of Water hammer effect. The high pressure obtained from Water hammer effect is used to move the piston. The cam and follower mechanism to operate the main valve in order to stop the flow of fluid whereas the valve is free from any other mechanisms and is self-operated in conventional methods. The time interval between opening and closing of the valve is synchronized with the speed of rotation of the fly wheel. The device is provided with a self-operated isolation Valve.
