Leachate generation is a major problem generated from municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills/dumps which causes significant surface water and groundwater contamination. It is a liquid that comes out from the dumps/landfills which carries dissolved and suspended matter from it. Leachate results from precipitation entering the landfill /dumps at various stages of compost. The treatment process involves adding of acidic chemicals as acidification and /or basic chemicals as basification of the leachate results precipitation of the suspended particles, dissolved solids, paralyzing the micro-organisms, algae, fungi and other life organisms as sludge which is separated from the treated leachate water, the generated sludge is mixed with the brick preparation or land fill.
