The present invention relates to Synthesis of Metallic Nanoparticle from essential oils of spices. Because of their unique properties, noble metal nanoparticles have many practical applications in the field of medicine, biology, material science, physics and chemistry. Nanoparticles (NPs) measure approximately 1 - 100 nm in dimension and exhibit properties different from their macroscale counterparts. The nanonization of phytoceuticals leads to a high surface area to volume ratio, enhancement in solubility and reticuloendothelial system (RES) uptake, bioavailability, an enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, sustained release, improvement in tissue distribution of macrophages, enhanced physicochemical stability. NPs contain the drug embedded in the matrix or absorbed onto the surface. To obtain the above-mentioned benefits, novel carriers and methods to prepare herbal NPs have been investigated, numerous have been patented also.
