The invention relates to a device and to a method for adjustment of the blade gap (4) of drum shears (2) for cutting a metal strip (1). The problem addressed by the invention is that of modifying drum shears for cross cutting a metal strip such that the blade (5) can be used resulting in a symmetrical cutting profile such as is exhibited for example by blades having a curved cutting edge wherein the blade gap (4) can be adjusted automatically without additional setup times during the production operation of the drum shears. This problem is solved by drum shears having two blade drums (2) for cross cutting a metal strip (1) according to claim 1.
