The present invention Development of method to Synthesize Aqueous Dispersible Reduced Graphene Oxide relates to a simple, environmentally safe and highly effective method for the reduction of graphene oxide by using carbonic acid as a chemical reducing agent. Carbonic acid has been synthesized by mixing the dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) with deionized water as well as mixing of sodium bicarbonate and acetic acid in 1:1 ratio. The resultant material has shown aqueous dispersible property, which helps to disperse RGO in water for prolong time. As prepared material have shown higher specific capacitance. The energy and power density of the material exhibits higher values for its supercapacitor applications. According to the data obtained, as prepared carbonic acid is capable of producing carboxyl-functionalized reduced graphene oxide which leads to disperse in aqueous medium. This preparative method will overcome the problems to prepare reduced graphene oxide dispersion in aqueous medium rather than in hazardous organic solvents.
