Provided are a sand contamination degree evaluating method and a sand contamination degree evaluating device for foundry sand with which it is possible to measure the electrical conductivity of the foundry sand and with which it is possible to evaluate the sand contamination degree on the basis of the measured electrical conductivity. This method of evaluating a sand contamination degree of foundry sand by measuring the electrical conductivity of the foundry sand includes: a step of preparing reference samples (1 101) and a comparison sample (201) of the foundry sand; a step of measuring the electrical conductivities of the reference samples and the comparison sample after subjecting the reference samples and the comparison sample to a humidification process; and a step of evaluating the sand contamination degree on the basis of the measured electrical conductivities of the reference samples and the comparison sample.
