This invention relates to a method for single stage treatment of grey cotton fabrics, with the areal density in the range of 60 to 250 g/m2, for desizing, scouring and bleaching using mesophile enzymes, having optimum activities in the pH range from 4 to 8, with a material (fabric weight) to reaction liquor (m:l) ratio of 1:20 to 1:50, temperature range of 25 to 95° C for a duration of 60 minutes to 300 minutes, applying all the enzymes, except the enzyme for bleaching glucose oxidase, with definite length of fabric in the form of batch process, to obtain a drop absorbency in the range ~ 1 to 5 seconds and residual pectin level of 1.0% to 5.0% with improved crease recovery of the fabrics to extent of 190 to 195° and higher or the highest mote removal rating.[IN-DEL-2010-00814A]
