A plant biomass mixture comprises: a powdered extract from the dehydrated husk of the fruit from a member of the Rosaceae family; and a powdered extract of seeds from the fruit from a member of the Annonaceae family. The mixture also comprises a third powdered extract of husks of the fruit from a member of the Solanaceae family. A product for the phyto-removal of toxic components from foodstuffs comprises: a plant biomass mixture, such as that described in the previous paragraph; and a container, manufactured from a porous material, containing the plant biomass mixture. A method for removing toxic components from foodstuffs comprises the following steps: placing the foodstuffs in water, immersing a phyto-removal product, such as that described in the previous paragraph, in the water containing the foodstuffs; removing the phyto-removal product from the water containing the foodstuffs; and removing the water from the foodstuffs.
