POLYESTER RESIN SYNTEHSIS.

Described is a method for the polyester resin synthesis by the degradation of polyethylene terephthalate by glycolisis and subsequently by an esterification reaction using as a catalyst a zinc complex. The method is sustainable and of easy industrial application, these aspects being hardly found in the state-of-the art processes, since these latter involve the use of substantially polluting organic solvents and complex reaction steps, as well as long times and high temperatures. These conditions are optimised with the inventive method.
