摘要

The present invention refers to a method for promoting a surface with superior tribological properties in surgical metallic implants, obtained by the process of fusion and precision vacuum; the invention may refine the size of the grain by means of a method that uses the dynamic recrystallization of the alloy upon being mechanically worked. The present method improves the wear resistance without affecting the ductility of the pieces, since only the surface would be affected, reducing then the amount of wear particles and the generation of metallic ions, in total hip prosthesis with metal-metal contact. This method may be used in the manufacture of all types of joint prosthesis subjected to wear by sliding contact.
