A vehicle-carried movable container or vehicle inspection system (10), comprising: a radiation source (4), a movable vehicle used for carrying the inspection system (10) and a detector arm frame. The detector arm frame comprises a horizontal arm (1) and a vertical arm (2), a first end of the horizontal arm (1) being connected to the vehicle, a second end of the horizontal arm (1) being connected to one end of the vertical arm (2). The horizontal arm (1) is connected to the vertical arm (2) by the vertical arm (2) passing through a pivotally connected device, such that the vertical arm (2) can pivot in a vertical plane, and the horizontal arm (1) and the vertical arm (2) can be contained in the same horizontal plane. The new arm frame structure can reduce a space occupied by the arm frame when folded on a scanning car roof, thus reducing the height of the scanning car when driving. Disclosed is also a vehicle-carried movable container or vehicle inspection method for the vehicle-carried movable container or vehicle inspection system.
