Method for cultivating phalaenopsis, comprising the steps of providing a cultivation pot with a bottom and a circumferential wall defining an internal culture pot volume Vp of the culture pot, placing culture material, in particular bark material, into the culture pot, placing it in the breeding pot of a phalaenopsis with roots. The method further comprises the step of filling the culture pot with water to effect a water reservoir volume such that at least a part of the roots of the phalaenopsis is under water.
