Provided is a geothermal heat exchanger capable of reducing the removal of heat by a non-geothermal zone when carrying hot water heated deep underground to the ground, while providing high thermal efficiency by inducing a swirling flow through asymmetrical cutouts at the bottom of the inner pipe. A geothermal heat exchanger (100) according to the present invention is characterized by having: a liquid transport pipe (10) provided with a liquid lowering pipe (11) to which pressurized heat-exchange liquid is supplied, and a liquid raising pipe (12) disposed on the inside or outside of the liquid lowering pipe (11) and in which the heat-exchange liquid that has been lowered to a geothermal zone is moved from below, the liquid raising pipe being configured to cause the heat-exchange liquid, which comprises hot water produced by the supply of heat from the geothermal zone, to rise in a no vapor-containing state; and an outer heat-insulating layer (30) on the outside of the liquid transport pipe (10) in a part or all of the interval between the ground side to the geothermal zone.
