The invention concerns an alloy for the production of jewels, constituted by: 7-16% silver by weight; 15-36% zinc by weight; 0.1-4.17% by weight of a metal or a combination of metals selected among a) gold and platinum, b) gold and palladium, c) gold, platinum and palladium, d) platinum, e) palladium, and f) platinum and palladium; 0-0.5% by weight of one or more metals selected among iridium, germanium, silicon, osmium, tin, indium and gallium, preferably iridium, germanium, silicon and gallium, the rest being constituted by copper. The invention also concerns items, in particular jewels, produced from the alloy.
