The invention relates to a system for power supply of freight cars for the transport of containers, tanks, trailers and semi-trailers, in the railway transport field. According to the invention, the system uses the railway energy system as a power source and it comprises: a high-voltage cable (1) which is connected with one end to a converter (7) and, with the other end, to a high-voltage terminal (2) of a high-voltage terminal box (3), another high-voltage cable (4) connecting the freight cars, which has one end connected to the high-voltage terminal box (3) and the other end connected to a high-voltage plug (5) which is, in its turn, connected to the power supply of the locomotive (6), a low-voltage electric cable (8) which is connected with one end to the outlet terminal of the converter (7) and, with the other end, to a low-voltage electric socket (9) which is embedded in the freight car (10).
