A method for increasing an automatic generation control, AGC, of an energy management system network, comprising: establishing a bilateral or unilateral communication between a network energy management system and a wind power plant control system ; communicate a ramp speed limit signal of an automatic generation control of the network energy management system; communicate the active power functions of the control of the wind power plant from the control system of the wind power plant to the energy management system; in which the active power functions of the control of the wind power plant include wind power (4) not supplied; characterized in that the communication stage of the ramp speed limit signal is performed in response to an ACE area control error, increase calculation performed by the AGC control which determines that a ramp speed capacity of AGC units is insufficient , which comprises: increasing the AGC when the actual power exchange exceeds a first threshold that results in a positive ramp speed limit in a wind power plant; wherein, if the power exchange continues to increase and exceeds a second threshold, a ramp speed limit or limit is applied; wherein, if the power exchange exceeds the first threshold for a specified period of time, then a negative ramp speed limit is sent to the wind power plant to reduce power production; and in which, once the power exchange falls below the thresholds, the calculation of the ACE increase is restarted and the wind power plant is allowed to generate according to the available wind with no ramp speed limit.
