Communication procedure between a terminal of a user (10) powered by a battery and a base station (20) through other terminals located in the vicinity of the user's terminal, allowing an optimization of the battery management of said terminal of the user (10) characterized in that it comprises: -a selection stage between the surrounding terminals (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19), battery-powered and located in an area (22) within reach of the base station (20), terminals whose distance with said user terminal (10) is less than a predetermined distance and whose battery level is greater than a predetermined threshold, called neighboring terminals (11, 12, 13 , 14), - a configuration stage of the neighboring terminals (11, 12, 13, 14) and the user's terminal (10) through a configuration setpoint, - a stage of data transmission between the user's terminal (10) and the base station (20) according to the aforementioned configuration setpoint defining at least one neighboring terminal (11, 12, 13, 14) through which said data transits, - said configuration setpoint defines a short-range communication protocol and a communication protocol of long range, and because the data transmission stage comprises: a sub-stage of data transmission between the user's terminal (10) and one several neighboring terminals (11, 12, 13, 14) by means of the communication protocol short-range, - a sub-stage of data transmission between the neighboring terminal (s) (11, 12, 13, 14) and the base station (20) by means of the long-range communication protocol.
