A procedure for the extraction, of bauxite and red mud resulting from the processing of bauxite, of products of industrial interest, separated from each other, said process comprising the following steps: - optional crushing and / or drying of the material to be treated at a temperature of 60 to 250 ° C; - optional roasting of the dried material; - fusion of the resulting material; - maintenance of the melting bath at a temperature above 1350 ° C; - insufflated into the chlorine melting bath, or at least one chlorine generating compound in situ, optionally together with at least one inert gas; - optional stirring of the molten bath to favor the diffusion of chlorine and the kinetics of process reactions; - collection of the gaseous flow leaving the melting bath and sending it, maintaining the temperature above 1500 ° C, to a controlled cooling system; - controlled cooling of the gas flow with selective condensation of chlorides of the different elements of industrial interest, such as sodium chloride, iron (III) chloride, gallium (III) chloride, aluminum chloride, titanium (IV) chloride and chloride silicon (IV); - separate collection of individual chlorides - optional additional purification of each of the chlorides collected by fractional distillation.
