A vaccine comprising one or more antigens and an adjuvant, in which the one or more antigens are each independently, a microbial antigen, an autoantigen, a tumor antigen, an allergen, or an addictive substance and the adjuvant consists of one or more isolated CpG oligonucleotides or a TLR agonist that is an oligoribonucleotide, and cholesterol.
