Nucleic acid encoding a universal chimeric receptor, in which the receptor comprises three domains, where - the first domain is a marker binding domain, - the second domain is an extracellular hinge and a transmembrane domain and - the third domain is a signal transduction domain in which the marker binding domain is linked to a marker derived from a human nuclear protein in which the marker is a short linear E5B9 epitope of human nuclear protein La and in which the domain of marker binding is an antibody or an antigen binding fragment thereof and where the marker binding domain is bound to the respective 5B9 epitope.
