The present invention relates to a control system (1) for passenger transport vehicles (10). This system comprises transmitter means (40; 41; 42) positioned on a traffic roadway (21) or close to such a roadway, upstream of at least one stop (31; 32) provided for at least one vehicle (10), receiver means (60) positioned on each vehicle (10) and configured to receive a deceleration control signal originating from the transmitter means (40; 41; 42), and control means (80) positioned on each vehicle (10) and configured to control a deceleration of the vehicle (10) as a function, on the one hand, of the receipt of the control signal by the receiver means (60) and, on the other hand, of at least one travelling parameter of the vehicle (10). The invention also relates to a control method for passenger transport vehicles (10). The invention also relates to a passenger transport vehicle (10) configured for the use of the control system (1) and/or of the control method.
