CHARACTERIZATION OF A PERCEPTION OF BLUR

A method of characterizing a fuzzy perception by a subject (10) determines a dioptric blur value for an image (C) that is observed by the subject. The image has a fuzziness produced by low-pass filtering of image components, as a function of respective spatial frequencies of said image components. An indication of its perception of the blur in the image is provided by the subject, and is associated with the value of the dioptric blur. Several images associated with different values of dioptric blur allow to frame a threshold value of the dioptric blur for the subject, which corresponds to a criterion of perception of the blur. The method adjusts the design of a progressive lens that is intended for the subject according to the sensitivity of said subject to visual blur.
