The invention relates to a circuit arrangement of a sensor-triggered control and/or display system in the context of a security critical application with a DSP and to methods for monitoring the DSP. The position and/or location signals transmitted to the DSP are reduced with respect to the signal information content. The reduced information content is fed to a position and location calculating entity and tested to determine whether the unambiguous position and/or location ascertained by the DSP is included with the inaccurate and/or ambiguous position and/or location determined by the position and location calculating circuit in the context of accuracy and/or ambiguity, and a sensor error signal is outputted in the event the test result is negative.
