A tank fill adapter device for a portable fluid tank provides a connectionbetween an inlet collar of a tank and a supply pipe for filling the tank witha fluid thatintroduces an air gap into the connection. An annular mounting flange mountsagainstthe inlet collar using a fastened connection. A pipe supporting portionprotrudesupwardly from the annular mounting flange for supporting an open end of thesupplypipe spaced above the inlet collar. An outer annular baffle protrudesdownwardly fromthe annular mounting flange for being received into the tank through the inletcollar andan inner annular baffle is supported within the outer annular baffle to definea generallyannular space between the outer and inner annular baffles which remains inopencommunication at a bottom end thereof with an interior of the tank.
