An ink composition useful for digital offset printing applications includes acolorantand a high viscosity thickening agent. A process for variable datalithographic printingincludes applying a dampening fluid to an imaging member surface; forming alatent image byevaporating the dampening fluid from selective locations on the imaging membersurface toform hydrophobic non-image areas and hydrophilic image areas; developing thelatent image byapplying an ink composition comprising an ink component to the hydrophilicimage areas, theink composition comprising orange/violet/green (OVG) ink formulationsresulting in a 7-colorink set meeting the extended color gamut requirements for digital advancedlithographic imagingprinting.
