A method and system of adjusting a radio frequency (RF) broadcast signalpower level in a crowd- sourced mobile device localization system in apedestrian area. The method is executed in the processor of a servercomputing device and comprises localizing a first and at least a second mobiledevices to establish respective first and at least second estimated positionswithin the pedestrian area in accordance with fingerprint data of thepedestrian area, the first and the at least a second mobile devicesbroadcasting a respective localization data packet that includes therespectivefirst and at least a second estimated positions at a first and an at least asecond broadcast power levels respectively, determining a respectiveconfidence level indicative of a degree of accuracy for the first and the atleasta second estimated positions, and when the respective confidence level for atleast one of the first estimated position and the at least a second estimatedposition is one of above and below a threshold confidence level, perform atleast one of lowering and increasing at least one of the first broadcast powerlevel and the at least a second broadcast power level.
