METHODS, APPARATUSES AND SYSTEM DIRECTED TO SUPPORTING INTERACTION OF VARIOUS TYPES OF MOBILITY IN NEXT GENERATION WIRELESS NETWORKS

Methods, apparatuses, systems, devices, and computer program products directed to supporting various types of mobility in next generation wireless networks are provided. Among new methodologies and/or technologies provided herein is a method implemented in a network that supports network layer mobility management and that includes in a mobility management function (MMF), which method includes receiving, at the MMF from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), a first message indicating support for non-network layer mobility management; determining, at the MMF, the WTRU is approved to use the non-network layer mobility management; and receiving, at the MMF from the WTRU, a second message indicating an approval to use the non-network layer mobility management. In an embodiment, the method may include performing a procedure and/or configuring the network to support non-network layer mobility management.
